Jazz If you require only background jazz or swing music, a trio or a duo will suffice. These combinations will allow for token dancing if needed. Popular options are:

  • saxophone/clarinet/flute, piano, string bass
  • saxophone/clarinet/flute, guitar, string bass
  • piano, string bass, drums
  • piano, string bass
  • guitar, string bass

Drums are required if you want to encourage dancing or for a more upbeat sound. A group with drums can still perform softly for background music as needed.
